"From the President"....
Welcome to the Village of Millbrook! We are proud of our small community
and all that has been accomplished in the few short years that we have been
incorporated. It all started with a dream that Pete Petersen had to maintain
the friendly, rural atmosphere of our village. Eventually, in 2001 the citizens
voted to incorporate. Our first election was in 2002. Since then, we have
increased in size by over 500 acres of agricultural and residential properties.
Stop by and visit our nearby parks...Shuh Shuh Gah Canoe Launch sits across
the bridge from the village limits. It provides access to the scenic waterway...The
Fox River. Adjacent to Millbrook on both the north and the south are the
newly acquired Kendall County Forest Preserve Properties. Both properties
have over 3/4 mile long river front property and a total of 600 acres +/-.
Try your hand at fishing for walleye, catfish or bass from the historic
Millbrook bridge. Built in 1897, it still stands near the original river
crossing for early settlers and American Indians. Since 1957, Winding Creek
Nursery has been the place to go for all your planting needs. It continues
to grow and is very active in Village activities. Looking for a great place
to relocate to? Millbrook offers the serenity of small town living but access
to all the "big city" shopping within 15 minutes to a half hour. If you
want to spend a weekend or two, try out the Yogi Bear Campground nearby.
It offers RV or tent campsites. Every weekend in the summer finds bicyclists
riding through our village. It is a great place to relax and get away from
all the big city hustle and bustle. Come visit and see what YOU think! We
look forward to seeing you.
Thank you for visiting,
Judy Heim, Village of Millbrook President
